231 swap for 207 swap in MJ

I am trying to replace a broken 207 t-case in my '86 Comanche. It has a 2.5l 4 cyl and a 3spd auto; is this a 904 trans? Can I swap in a NP231 (21 spline?) t-case?

The swap is pretty simple but as I remember, the drive shaft lengths are about an inch different.

Front is totally different, one is DC one is ball and cup. Rear is a little shorter but if he is lifted his stock one will work fine.

Could I use a stock XJ front driveshaft?
