burping coolant system

I recently changed lower and upper radiator hoses and used the search to answer my question but I am still having trouble getting coolant into the block. I absolutely cannot find the temp sender to remove and I don't think the tstat is opening because I only see about 160 on the factory gauge when it is running. 1990 4.0 XJ

I don't know how it is on the 90's but on mine the temp sending unit is in the thermostat housing. Right one the front of the head. Sounds the the t-stat is stuck.
