weill a 98 tranny work on my 90......even if i get the computer?

The 1990 AW4 is most likely a 21-spline unit; which means your t-case will also be 21-spline. The 98 is 23-spline, and will bolt up to and 1991-and-up t-cases.

Also, the 1998 tranny's computer is supposed to work with the OBD II computer found in all 1996-and-up XJ's; I don't know if it'll spaz out when it finds it only has itself for company.
