I just scored a HP D44/ 31 spline 9" out of a '79 Bronco.
plus a new 31 spline moly mini spool with moly cross pin for the 9
for $440.

Both axles are complete and they are about 65" WMS-WMS with 3:00 gears.

I've been wanting to do the ford axle swap for sometime now.

opinions?

Thats the same swap I am going to do shortly. Let us know how the sawp goes and take a lot of pics. Are you going to use radius arms or build upper and lowers?

Maybe Opie will chime in, he has the same combo, IIRC.

Other wise, good score. Plan on doing coils of leaves up front?

just for "simplicity"...
my plan is to run the radius arms and coils.

I really wasn't prepared to start the swap yet, but I had someone ask about these axles and I couldn't pass them up.
They are exactly what I've been looking for...other than the 3:00 R&P obviously.

I just finished a full width build with a similar HP44. It worked out sweet and was easy.

I used the same axles with radius arms...... you def need to swap out those gears.

How much did you have to extend the RA's?
