sweet trailing = dead alternator and bat

i am located here in Fort Bragg Nc, which has some intense off roading opportunities, and just recently after a hurricane like rainstorm i went out, and found a Hemmitt and tank obstical course, and whooped it like a champ in my xj, but in the process i went through a lot of deep water, and mud, which destroyed my alternator, and in turn my battery as well... is there any way to protect against this costly but easily contracted problem??

well i guess there really isnt anything to be done...

wash out the alternator as soon as your done wheeling.
Relocate the alternator to the top of the motor. You can do this with a 2.5 Mj alt bracket and ditching your A/C.
