I'm tryin to figure out how to adjust the engagment of the clutch. Anyone know how?

You shouldn't need to. Hydraulic clutches are nice like that.
What year? The only question I'd have after that is if you have an internal slave (which you just can't adjust anyhow) or an external slave (which may have an adjustable pivot ball, but I haven't seen one in person on an XJ yet.)

have you bled the clutch lines? this may help if your clutch is not disengaging fully. Beyond bleeding the clutch lines there isn't adjustment, if it is beginning to slip it is wearing out and needs replacement.

Just had the slave and master replaced on it. The jeep's a 91.
