Battery ???

I have read that alot of you guys use the RED TOP OPTIMA. I was told that they did not make one for the 96 XJ with a 4.0 due to the size of the location. Does anyone use a Red Top in the stock location, and if so what is the model number?

As I recall, the 34/78 Red Top (pretty much their standard size) should fit there just fine. They're not listed to fit in the RENIX XJ, but I've got two of them in service without any physical issues. RENIX has the battery at the passenger front corner - I'm assuming the later models to be similar (the 1997 I looked at looked like it took the exact same battery, stock.)

I've got a 96. My red top fits fine.

the 34/78 fits perfectly in my 92

the posts dont even have to be on the right side because their posts are mounted more towards the middle. you should have more than enough room to stretch the cables over.

Red Top fits just fine in the stock location on my '92. I had to flip it around so the posts are on the correct side, but that's no big deal.
