I was thinking about an ox locker for the 8.8

I was wondering if anybody knows what the axle splinage is in a stock '98 explorer 8.8, I want to put a ox locker in my new 8.8 rear end for my xj, OX only make a 31 spline locker, and i was hoping that i did'nt have to buy new axles too.

I copied this some time ago:
you can tell the 31 splines from the 28 from the outside.. You have to look at where the taper in the axel tube is.. inside the u-bolts is a 28 and outside the u-bolts is the 31. So the u-bolts from a 7.5 will fit the 28 spline but not the 31.
All 1997 and later should be 31 spline

All Explorers are 31 spline.

I don't think the Ox 8.8 is released yet from ox yet, i might be wrong though

Correct that they only are making the 31 spline version though. If you have i believe 97 and newer 8.8 then it will be 31 spline but don't qoute me on it
