motor swapping

I am pulling the motor (4.0 non HO) out of a 90 xj (that I'm parting out) and installing it into my 87. I also have a 91 that has a blown HO 4.0. Does anyone know if I can use the intake setup, wiring harness and computer from the 91 onto the 90 motor. The only difference is one is HO and the other isn't. Just want to make sure before I do it.

The wiring would get you nothing.
The intake/exhaust bolts up different, so you'd need to bore/tap holes I guess. You'd also need the downpipe & the HO airbox & other assorted HO pieces, and a TPS adaptor to make the HO work with a Renix XJ. I don't see a big benefit from doing the swap. You'd also be eliminating the EGR, if you have to pass smog or whatever.

I swapped in a HO motor into an 89 system and LOVE the difference from the tired 89 motor.
