Misfire problems

2000 XJ with 80,000 miles.

It starts up fine, then the engine shakes bad, makes a clicking sound, and starts to die when I let off the gas. Check engine light comes and goes. Computer reads misfire cylinder 2. I just replaced the spark plugs and the second one was bad but there is no difference with the new plugs. Any suggestions???

I have had the some problem with my 98' except for cylinder 6. I have decided to change my fuel injectors and see if that works. I just replaced the engine and it still has the same misfire so that is my best suggestion for you is to look at the fuel injectors.
