xj code

my wife's 2000 xj was getting a code p1494-leak detection pump SW or mechanical fault.
does anyone know what that is and where it is? has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

LDP is for the evaporative system leak detection pump. The pump pressurizes your fuel tank to check for any vapor leaks. The code means that the pump is seized or it lost its vacuum supply. Look for a med sized vacuum line to the pump itself and check if there is vacuum present with the engine running. I usually just replace the pump if the vacuum is good and the code is present. Here is a pic for you to see where it is in the engine bay.
