clear coat/clear paint?

Since my hood project is near completion, I'm wondering how to protect the top surface of the paint: Hood was painted with Rustoleum and now I'm considering putting on clear rustoleum on top of it all, or is there some sort of a clear cloat or something that would work better?

There went too much work into my hood to put herculiner over it.
