Why Would I Need Longer Bumpstops When Using A 2 In. Rubber Spacer On Top Of The Coil Spring As Part Of A Lift Kit ? Wouldn't The Spacer Act As A Bump Stop ?
Because the spacer has a hole in it and goes around the bumpstop mount. A coil spring spacer is just that, a spring spacer. It does not change the part of the mount that has the bumpstop attached, that remains firmly attached in the STOCK location. http://www.4x4wire.com/jeep/tech/susp/xj_ome_tflx/front/
There's some good info with pictures that show why you would need to extend it.
