TJ flares on 95 XJ

I have a 4.5" RE kit with 32x11.5x15 on 15x8 with 4" backspace. I have just fitted a rear tJ flare to the front on the XJ leaving the blinker lamp intact (Australian model). I just flexed it only to find that it still rubs on the TJ flares. The TJ flares I have, have a side on them 100mm high (2005 model). The ones I see on the web fitted to XJs seem to have a shorter side on them. Am I imagining things or are they all the same. I have cut about 50mm off the TJ flares but would have prefered not to as the factory edge is neater. Any comments.
