Gearing

Yes I know I have seen the gear ratio chart, but..

Since I am putting a built up AMC 360 in my XJ and running the AW4 tranny (same bellhousing bolt pattern) and possibly a NP231 t-case, and a Ford 8.8 rear axle. I am wondering what ratios to run in the differentials. I have 32's and when I do this V8 swap I am going to put another 2" of lift to give me 5-5.5" of lift. I am just curious what ratios are best for this setup.

Id probably go with 4.10s.

hey good to see you here, 4.10's for sure. hell 4.10's and 35's are great for a highway DD with a V8. seen zj's and wjs on 35's 410's and the 5.2L v8

oh hey sky. OKay so 4.10s it is. I think the 96 and newer 8.8s had 4.10s stock if I am not mistaken.
