Was driving today, and playing a bit (high rpm) and was greeted by a loud snapping sound. It happened to be my mechanical fan chewing away my fan shroud.
Somehow the bearing that the fanclutch is attached to somehow made its way out of the mount. I hammered it back in and limped to the JY for a "new" one.
What would cause this? the bearing did have some play in it so I think it may have seized? Just curious if it has happened to anybody else.
