If it cranks, it's not a starter problem - that's working fine.
It's going to be a fuel or fire issue - and troubleshooting both of those usually starts with the CPS. Find a 3-pole connector with two wires near the back of the intake manifold, unplug it, and plug it back in - this often "wipes" the contacts clean and allows a reconnection. If that works, unplug it and attack with some electrical contact cleaner and a pipe cleaner.
If not, get a CPS from somewhere and try that instead. Since you've got a 90, you can't use a later model CPS - the ECM won't know what to do with the signal it gets. If that doesn't work, keep the old one for a spare (which you should have anyhow) and let us know so we can tell you where to look next.
Oh - one more time, THE STARTER IS WORKING if you're getting a normal crank. No need to check anything there.
