Rear Bumper Plastic

On my 98 XJ I have pulled the bolt from bottom, and the screw from bottom near front of the wrap around plastic on the rear bumper...

Now, what's with the rail looking thing on the rocker under the plastic, and how do I get the plastic detached from it?

Pull it off, it should come off pretty easy, then you can drill out the rivets holding on the rail.

To get the end cap off just slide it towards the rear and pull out. The end cap should come loose.

I'll try that, wasn't sure since the front of it wraps around too.

Yeah, I've pulled em off my 98 sport. Just pull out from the body a little, then slide it toward the rear, like said before.

Now then, did they paint the body then mount the brackets or did they mount brackets and paint over whole mess?

I ask since the rivets are painted
