Hey guys. I have an 87 cherokee and my oil pressure gauge doesn't work. I can't find where it is located on the engine and I don't know if my gauge is bad. Is there any way to test the gauge? THanks

if its a 4.0, the sending unit is next to the oil filter.

to test the gauge and harness -- with the key in "run" disconnect the wire from the sender and look waht the gauge does... then short the wire to the block and again observe the gauge --
If your gauge doesn't move then it, its supply, and/or the harness has a fault.
Quick trick to kinda eliminate the harness once you find that the gauge isn't moving is to measure the voltage available at the sender... if you have no voltage suspect the harness (or a fuse)

There are two types of oil presure transducers. One is for "idiot lights" and one is for a "gauge".
If you buy a new transducer make sure it is the one for a gauge.
