Will a set of 99 s10 leafs work for a lift?

Will a set of 99 s10 leafs work for a lift? I read that a newer set of leafs dont work?

will they bolt in.....no. if they 2.5 inches wide they will work. but you have to work to make them work... cut the eyes off that spring packs mainleaves buy a new center pin and some spring clamps and then take the main leaf off your xj pack and put that right on top of the s-10 pack. good for 2-4 inches of lift. i got 6+ inches off dodge dakota, izuzu trooper, and 4wd s10 leaves, and it was soft and flexable.

what combination did you use to achieve 6 inches of lift? where did you place the springs and which springs outta each pack did you use?
