Does anyone know the correct torque spec for 8.8 carrier bearings??

TIA

I sent you a PM, but it's 60. I always clean the threads on both the diff and the bolt with brake cleaner, let it dry, and then put a smear of high strength loc-tite on.

Cool thanks

I just had to replace all the wheel studs and I'm just getting it back together.

Not a big difference in numbers but according to a '97 Exploder service manual:

Differential Bearing Cap Bolt 70-85 Lb/Ft

My Ford dealer confirmed these numbers.
I have been torquing them down to 80 ft/lbs on a couple of 8.8 that I welded up.

Weird. All my diff setup stuff says 60.

Thanks for the info. I thought 60 was a little light so I checked the other side and it was ~85. I only had to take the pass side off to get the center pin retaining bolt out of the Detroit.

All back together now.

Next project... replace the old Warn spindles, bearing, seals, etc. with the new spindle kit I got from Warn.

Can you say FREEBIE :D :D :D :D
