body panel replacement

I've been told at some junkyards that somewhere along the way (maybe '93) that the body of the XJ changed and that pre 93 front body work can't be used on newer 93-97 model. Is this entirely true or is just a matter of the radiator and core support being different.

Thanks
Jerry

You can use the fenders and the bumpers. I don't know about the radiator support. You can also use the front panel and lights, but at some point between 89 and 93 they changed the grille design and the way it mounts, so you'll need the correct grille for the panel.

The break for the header and grille is 84-90, then 91-96. The hood changed in 1987, from the single latch in the center to the two latches at the outer corners. Fenders work for all years from 84 thru 96.
