Rattle on Passenger's side...

I've got this damn rattling that happens whenever I hit pot holes or rough terrain with my passenger side front tire. My XJ is a 1996 2wd with an auto tranny. You can't hear it if you have the windows closed but when they are open it is a killer. It sounds like metal on metal and I've banged and searched around everything under there for the past 6 months and I can't find anything. If anyone has found a problem with this or, more importantly if anyone has found a solution please let me know.

Probably a long shot, but check to see of the exhaust pipe can rattle on your crossmember. May be motor/trans mounts, or a pipe hanger problem.
