what would it take to put a trans from a 96 into a 92 . is the slave and master cylinder the same and all that stuff

If I remember right, 94 or 95 is the cutoff where you'll need a new clutch disk because the spline count changed. If you can, grab the entire tranny and everything inside the bellhousing so you can upgrade to the external slave cylinder. You won't necessarily have to go to the new master (which might not bolt right in without mods). I adapted a 99 external slave plastic fluid line to an 88 master cylinder's metal line using a simple compression fitting from the hardware store.
