detriot locker and Bearing problem

hey all, i am installing a detriot right now, so i started taking the carrier out, and now am pulling the bearings off so i can put them on the detriot. i bought a bearing puller but it just started bending the bearing. whats the best way to pull these things off without bending them, because once i put the bearings on the detroit and set backlash, i might have to take them back off and put some more shims in there. thanks.

Welcome to Differential 101!It takes a "special" puller to not damage the bearings,thats why you use "set-up" bearings before the final install!Re-using a bearing is not really a good idea anyway!
