transfer case swap or not?????

i have a 90 xj and i was looking in to the future to make it a real mud boogger and putting like a d44 in the rear and 33 to 34 inchs bfg's so my question is i have a np 242 i was wondering if i stayed with this transfer case if it would hold up ok or is it just a crap t Case and i was better off getting something else????
