Fabbing Rock Sliders

I have researched over and over looking at different styles of rock rails and have decided to build my own. I plan to fab a set that mount to both the pinch seem and have supports that extend to the frame rails. The only problem i am having in teh design is taht my stock rocker panels are rotted away pretty badly so i need to cut them out. Does anyone know of a writeup or solution to this problem as all of the designs for sliders that mount to the frame leave the stock rockers in place.

Forget rockrails. Cut out those rotted rockers and replace with some 3x5 or even 3x6 .120 wall rectangular tubing. Kills two birds with one stone and it's pretty easy.

thats what im planning on doing...i want to replace my rockers with 2x6 stock steel but I want to fabricate them with stiffening braces that extend to the frame rails( liek the detours rock sliders) but if i cut out the old rockers they wont line up. any ideas?
