Stock speaker problem

My front right door speaker is barely audible so I tried to test it today. I took a good speaker from the rear and put it in its place and it sounds just as bad. There is no bass, it almost sounds like a tweeter. It's not the deck as I swapped it to make sure.

I am guessing I have a bad connection somewhere. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The wires can become frayed at the 'hinge' point between the door and the body. To fix it, you'll need to remove kick/door panels--replace with new wires.

But, before you start pulling panels, try opening and closing the door repeatedly to see if you get a change in the sound. Further to that, you can use a meter to check the wires.
