Installing SYE

It looks pretty straightforward, but I've got 2 questions.

1) Is it that much easier to install if the t-case is removed from the Jeep (it's not a hack and tap)?

2) If I decided to remove it how much does it weigh, roughly?

Thanks,
Robert

Its easy even in the Jeep, its about 95lbs!

when my buddie and i installed mine we pulled it out and did it. i thought it was easier but then again i dont like laying on my back trying to slide under my xj when i dont have to. it also depends on if you have if on floor jacks or a hydro lift.

its not to heavy. having two guys and a floor jack was nice though when we pulled it and reinstalled it.

IMO

I installed my SYE in my 242 with it in the Jeep, didn't even drop the TC or take off the crossmember, seemed easy enough to me. If you do my only advice is to have a decent range of socket extensions ;) Otherwise it's fairly easy.
