tj d-30 in a xj?

is it true? if so what years will work, thanks

Can't think of any reason it wouldn't work; you're even going from one low-pinion axle to another.

The front of the TJ mounts etc. are exact to the XJ. The XJ was the test platform for the ZJ/TJ Front IMHO which is also the same and the TJ. The TJ got its rear from the ZJ. ZJ may be the wrong maybe the first was WJ, anyway its the first year of the first Grand is all I know. Anywho, be carefule TJ's do come with other ratios as standard. Including 3.73 and 4.10's......

Macgyver has done it. Be advised that the TJ D30 is a low pinion, but it will botk right in.
