85 D30 Front Cv's

Can I replace these with shafts from a later model year? I have access to a later (don't know what year) axles(s) with 4.10's. The front is a disco axle. Lift is planning to be about 5" with a built(!?) 2.8 in it so I don't think the power is there to do anyhing crazy but this will be my first XJ for wheeling so it will be a learner. 32's riding with an 8.8 to go out back soon but not before it goes on the road. Any help is great. Thanks.

Yup, they fit. I did the same thing WAY back in the day and swapped in my stock axle shafts to replace the crappy CV's in the stock 86 axle.
