New Computer ???

I am planning to replace the home computer. Any advice of what to avoid (or to get)? Nothing technical, just looking for a new box with the CD burner, USB, more storage and DVD player features (less than $1K).

Any update on the BOD & Members Forum password?

I have not been able to access these forums for a few weeks.

I got a new Compaq in September, and they put a video card in that is not compatible with Windows XP, which was also installed. My roommate has a Gateway, and I don't know that he's had any problems with it.

The new BOD forum is on the new forums format. You should have access to it without any new username and password, should be visible on the forums root.

I'll PM you with the members forum username and password. Too bad you're all the way out in CA or I'd offer to build you a smoking PC with all that for under $500.
