gas tank skid???

When you run a factory gas tank skid plate, are you supposed to leave the plastic guard thingy on or take it off?

You can leave the plastic in place. You'll have to trim it a little on the ends to clear the skid, but that way there's no need to remove the gas tank hanger straps.
