Drop hitch???

I just ordered a Hidden Hitch class III hitch and a drop (2") ball mount. Is 2" the correct drop for a stock XJ without UpCountry?

The drop needed depends upon the trailer you're going to pull. Use whatever drop it takes to make the trailer level.

Oh, I thought there was just some standard length for stock XJ's. On the website for Performance Products they list a 2" piece for the XJ, and I found it cheaper on JCWhitney so I just ordered from them. I don't know anything about towing...but it would be for:

1. Renting a uhaul trailer to tow (fairly small one)
2. Pulling a jet ski trailer I plan to buy

You need to buy the right drop to keep the trailer level. If you haven't bought yet, measure what you're towing first and buy accordingly.

And the cheapest place to buy reciever hitches is Tractor Supply, or your local equivalent.
