ok i've got a 3.5 lift on my 89 cherokee (which netted 3.5 lift). but it came with blocks in the rear. any suggestions on which springs i can mate with the stock ones to get the lift i need?
I just did this on a 86 I have,I used 91 chevy S10 rear springs.
What I did, disassemble the S10 packs,(the 91 had nice thick spring retainers that you can bend and bend back when finished).
Then with the XJ springs still on your rig disassemble them.
Take all but the "main" leaf from the S10 pack and place on your XJ "main".
Also I used all the spacers that go between the S10 leaves at the centerpin.
What I ended up with is 3.75" of lift.It seems to ride well and flexes pretty good.
Or You Can Use A Leaf Pack From A Comanche And Keep The Main Leaf From The Cheorkee And Use The Whole Pack From The Comanche Just Cut Off The Main Spring Eyes And Bolt Them To Your Main On Your Cherokee. Might Get You More Than You Want Thougth Got Me About Six Inches Could Possibly Remove A Leaf To Let It Down A Little.
