OK ..... I'm an idiot!!!

Let's say a friend of mine caused the "Check Engine Light" to come on due to something stupid he did under the hood. I... err... I mean He knows what caused it to come on and has since un-done what he did. Now... all he wants it that damned little yellow light to go off and stop reminding him that he's a moron.

How do you reset/clear that light???

I did a search but all I found was how to read the trouble codes and nothing about how to turn the light off.

Method 1: Disconnect battery for 10 minutes.

Method 2: Drive vehicle normally. If no faults, after five (I think) start-run-stop cycles the fault will clear itself and the light should go off.

might want to do the battery thing to clear the code list.

30 seconds is fine, ten minutes only if the beer is really good.
