Feel like a knob asking this....I am getting ready to order a poly bushing kit for my 98 classic. I am trying to determine the size/diameter of my sway bar. I found a website once that told me all the applicable data regarding this kind of stuff, but cant remember where. Short of buying some dial indicating calipers, any way of finding out what size my sway bar is? I want to replace the bushing when I put on my lift, which will hopefully be soon.

Hmm, I didn't realize there are 4 diffrent sizes: http://www.daystarproducts.com/html/asp/dblookup.asp
Anyway, your best best is you use a measuring tape, the soft kind that taylors use. That should give you the most accurate size of your sway bar.

Do you have the new 4wd catalog? Go to page 30. you have 23mm, 24mm, 25mm, and 28mm kits to choose from. All the kits say 84-02 XJ it just depends on what your swaybar size it.

Take it to a autoparts store that does rotor resurfacing and ask them to use the mic on the sway bar. That should give you the right diameter.

Not the most precise way but if yer in a pinch you can use an open end wrench.

Wow...I just held a tape measure up to the swaybar and eyeballed it.
