differential difficulty

try three. simple question
Some may remember my 01xj upgrade. I'm up to gears now. selected true trac for the read and detroit trac loc for the dana 30 with 4.10 ratio.
Question is I have a 600 dollar quote to install both from a local shop (jeep knowledgeable). Is this reasonable? I can install just unsure of special tool cost I will incur ie spreader, pinion depth gauge etc. Is 600 reasonable for a one time install?

Well, first of all, you may have your terminology reversed, because Detroit does not make the Trac-Lok, and the Trac-Lok is not available for the Dana 30 front axle.

$600 for both axles sounds very reasonable to me.

yep got them backwards, track loc in the rear, and the detroit truetrac up front.
Thanks, saves me new special tools for a one time use.
