are the four door cherokee doors the same as the mj doors?

Yup. through 96 at least. Although I remember something about a door latch change, but that might just be with the body change in 97.

Yes they are and with a welder you can make the 97 and newer ones fit.

You need the attaching latch on the jam from the 97+ and weld it to the older style jam. Make sure it is right before welding!

BTW the old style hinges bolt right up to the newer door.
