oil pressure sensor

OK, now that I swapped the filter in my new (97) XJ, I can see why the sensors are so easy to break of: they stick out at too big of an angle.
ANyways I did go to compare it vs the one on my 98 and that one seems to be tucked in more. So, has anyone tried turning the sensor mount a bit? I couldn't get a socket on top oof it cause it's a tight fit (might have to take the distributor off and appart to do so) but I did try it with a short stubby wrench (only thing that fits) and it was a no go.

you should be able to tweak it a bit without removing the dist. try a larger pair of channel locks.

I tried.. that sucker is in there TIGHT

well then, it may be easier to just deal with it and be careful when replacing the filter, then to remove the distributor, and make sure it is set in properly.
