wierd electrical problem

My friend has a stock 99 with the 4.0, and 5 speed. This just started today. When he turns the key to accesories everything works normal. But when he starts the Jeep, the airbag light wont turn off, he has no blinkers, and his power windows dont work, but only when the jeep is running. He says that his tach works though. Any advice would be much apreciated. Thanks.

Well we figured out that when you turn the key to start it, the key sticks to that forward position. when you move it back to the correct position everything works fine. Can we fix this with contact cleaner, or does he need to replace the ignition switch?

Mine did the same thing... eventually I had to replace the ignition switch, because wiggling it didn't do the trick any more.
