Fan/Air all or nothin!!!

I have a 99 Classic and recently the fan hasn't been working correctly. The 1,2,and 3 postions give no fan at all but the 4 position gives full blast. There were no "symptoms" of this before it happened. ANy suggestions on how I should investigate/deal with this?

There's a resistor pack that controls the fan speed; it's burned out and so the only time electrons pass is when on 'Hi' - search the archives for a part number and location; I should pay atttenion to that number myself one of these days.

hey not to hijack but mine does the same thing but reverse. No high only low #1 position. Its on a 95 sport if that matters. Any Ideas ?????

I had the same problem with my 93 and it ended up being the fan motor. Just my .02
