AAL install ques???

I am installing a 3" AAL kit from Explorer Pro Comp. I am already going to have to buy longer center bolts for the lef springs due to the AAL. So how does an AAL create and additional 2" of lift? It seems that after it is squished back together it will just conform to the other leaves? Or does the new AAL force the curvature of the other OEM springs to create lift. I am sure it works, I just wonder how it works so well, especially from the exploded view, which my springs are in on the garage floor, ha ha. Thanks for any info.

It forces the curvature of the other leaves, and often makes the ride more harsh once an AAL is added. Don't try to pull the leaves back together with that new center pin though - use C-clamps and don't ask me how I know that tip

and don't remove the spring from the truck while installing the aal
and remember to clamp the springs together before removing the pin
