My 93 XJ, had been running WAY HOT. Changed the usual suspects. Fan Clutch, thermostat,(put in a 180 too) cap, flushed and filled, still ran 230+ .

Put in my new black radiators.com 3 panel radiator. WHOA!! Did the 50-50 fill coolant to water and a bottle of Redline Water Wetter.

Ran around with the air maxed for an hour, NEVER went above 180. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Hope to see some mileage gains as well.

By the way, that lower auto tranny coolant line (L shaped) is a bear to change IF you use the L shaped flare connector sent with the rad. Turns out you need a NEW nylon lock-connector kit from Jeep at $17

Running under temp, you should expect to see a mileage loss. You may not get into closed loop operation at 180 degrees so use the OEM 195 degree thermostat if your want the best possible gas mileage. This has been discussed numerous times. You can do a search to read more.
