I have a friend with a 96 zj front d30. All I know about the zj is it is a 96 and had abs. He said I could have it if I wanted it. I have a 90 xj. Are the axle shafts interchangable with mine. Also any chance of them being 297x shafts?

Chances are that they are CV-style shafts. If there is no rupper boot over the "u-joint" you will get the 297s.

Don't know about the shafts, but the knuckles and brakes are keepers.

The shafts will work either way, but the CV-style is weaker

The ZJ's I've seen have the u-joints unless they have the 249 transfer case. The shafts might be worth something, but I bet the housing is 'low pinion'. Our '96 ZJ is...
