SYE, Who's?

Urban Redneck

Looks like I'm going to have to go with a SYE in the not too distant future. Looking around I see one's by RE, Atlas, Tom Wood's and others. Who's is good, fair, damn good and junk? Trying to get some research done before I have to order it.

Well, I'm happy with my RE hack-n-tap. It's held up fine thru some pretty serious wheeling, and was fairly easy to install. Of course, since I have the 242, there were not a lot of other options for me.

For a 96+ XJ, the RE hack and tap is a great kit for a great price. Easy to install as well.

bought an Advance Adapters SYE and High Angle Driveline ds. Awesome quality on both......

if you're going with a stock strength shaft i'd save some $$$ and get the RE h-n-t for $80.

if you don't do that i think you should get one with a HD output shaft. i can't really see any reason the spend the big money on tom woods stock strength shaft when rusty's has AA HD SYE for $200 and JB conversions has their HD SYE on sale for $200.

I like the look and feel of the Tom Woods, and the NAXJA discount didn't hurt.

the new one from novak enterprises lookes pretty slick. apparently the shortest on the market.

there's a pic of the novak piece in the april jp magazine.

I just put in the JB Conversions Super Short SYE and it was easy as shit with the exception of a bolt that required a 10mm 12sided socket. I even left my t-case in. If it wasn't for that bolt, the time spent on the swap would have been about 1.5 hours with no previous experience on something like this job.

I also have a custom A1 Driveshaft (Baltimore) but that is because they are local and this is my DD. Waiting for a TWs wouldn't have worked.

ooh, ooh...what info did he need to verify membership?

Just tell him. If there's a problem, tell him I'll be happy to look up membership status if need be. Any of us would, in the Intermountain Chapter. Our Chapter Pres (XJEEPER) , and others, drop by now and then, to see him, can ask them, as well.
