Tail Lights

I'm looking into getting some altezza tail lights for my '92 XJ limited, but the price for the older ones is hundreds more than for 97+. Is there a way to convert the newer tail lights to work on my older jeep?

In a word, "No."

Not for a reasonable price. Not only is the profile of the "notch" in the hatch different, the shape of the body where the lights mount is also different. Anything can be made to work, but in this instance the cost of doing it would exceed the cost of just buying the lights made to fit the vehicle.
