I'm installing the new one-piece oil pan gasket on my 88 4.0. Is the torque spec for the oil pan bolts the same as the old 4-piece gasket? My FSM for the latter states 7 ft-lbs. Can someone let me know if this is the same torque requirements for the new style gasket? TIA

Thanks! Those are the same specifications as the 4-piece gasket.

What are the benefits of a one piece gasket? Are they less prone to leaks? What is the cost differance between the two?

The one-piece gasket is easier to install and less prone to leaks.
