Front End Noise

Ok, I have a beattin 92 XJ V6 $X$ which has started to grind rub or just make noise in 2X wheel drive when the steering is jacked to either side i forward or reverse. When the XJ is in 4X4 mode the front end will lock up. Anyone have an idea on what the problem is or how to fix it. I do know that it is not the tires rubbing. Thanxs for your time

check your u-joints or front hub bearing assembly

I'd pull the front differential cover off and check the spider gears or ring & pinon. Possibly the cross-pin. That will only cost you a tube of silicone and maybe some GL-90 to take a look.
