runs and drives but likes to die

i have a 94 xj that will run just fine but occasionally it likes to drop RPM all of a sudden, it will go from about 2500rpm or so then it will drop to about 1000 and before it comes alive again.

its almost like the fuel shuts off for a quick second before turning on again.

when im at idle and the rpm drops, the jeep will die and it will take quite a few cranks before it will start again.

i just did a full blown tuneup, no check engine light, i checked all connectors (no corosion) and the jeep is still acting up. i have been told it could be cps, tps etc... has anybody else had this problem?

Fuel pump or maybe old filter. Next time just prime the pump before you start it by turning the ignition only half way. Do this about three times, if it starts then it shouldn't be a sensor.

Replace the CPS

That is a common problem - had to replace CPS on my sisters 95 GC 4.0 samr indication.
